If you are on that one site, you've probably seen it... so SKIP IT!
Also you probably know much of this stuff from reading this journal.
here we go.
1. I have never broken a bone or been hospitalized, I have done plenty of things that would require both of these things, but generally have the luck of the fool.
2. I don't eat seafood of any kind, fish or seafood, I don't like it. Yes, i have had the freshest seafood in the world, I still did not care for it. This absolutely astounds people for some reason, and some just cannot reconcile it. Hey, more for you! I used to be allergic to it as a kid, also eggs... I don't eat eggs as an adult either, which makes going out to breakfast a cavalcade of side dishes!
3. Although I have been stolen from/had my vehicle broken into countless times (10? 12?), I've only been mugged once. They pulled a carpet cutter on me and my friend coming home from buying soft drinks for the roommates and rolled us for the 3 bucks that we had in change. After they let go of my friend I drew two flip knives on them and chased them away. Even on crack, they almost made the cartoon pop-out eye thing.
Hey I was 17/18 and lived in the Ghetto!
I also had dyed blue hair, dressed like a Ramone and carried a Katana with me when I walked around the neighborhood.
4. I intensely dislike the band the Smashing Pumpkins, I always have, even that record that everybody says: "Well, I make an exception for that one!" (Gish I think?) I don't like them, I feel they are the most overrated band of my generation. if you want to bum me out play some Smashing Pumpkins, you will at ellicit an eyeroll.
5. I am actually very into architecture, although I have never tried my hand at actually doing it or have the slightest interest towards it, more that I appreciate it as an art form. I especially like architecture that pushes forward the idea of what buildings can be. One of the many reasons i'm such a huge Frank Lloyd Wright fan.
6. I am scary good at directions, to the point where I can be someplace once, and be distracted, intoxicated, whereever, and still, usually be able to find my way back to it where I came from.
7. I graduated from high school, but dropped out of college after half a semester. I blundered into my career (IT), almost completely by accident, by just being good with computers and in the right place and the right time. I was an Environmental Science major and a Cinematography major, although really that should have been short hand for a "talking about punk and noiserock records in the quad" major.
8. I voted unapologetically for Ralph Nader in 2000. I still will not apologize for that, and I think it's downright shameful that he was made to be the scapegoat for all of Gore/Lieberman's problems. I do not defend, and not did not support his candidacy in 2004 or 2008, and I think it's a shame he's burned away most of the goodwill that he so richly has deserved from his years of work. I hope the election of Obama will make people STFU about this, my guess is no.
9. I tend to have really good instincts about people. The few times i've made some bad decisions with people that are not worth my time is when i've gone against that. I realize that now and plan to stick with my instincts.
10. I have been in love 5 times. Each time was remarkably different... some very misguided, some exquisitely fulfilling and amazing, but all true. Also, see the item before this.
11. i've never had anal sex, pitching or receiving, and I do not care about it, nor do I really intend to. My sex life is plenty adventuresome and fulfilling without it.
12. Although I do not believe in pre-destination, I have had a few dreams that accurately predicted the future. Very lucid dreams... very, very lucid. I'm a pretty lucid dreamer, as long as i'm not TOO tired or if I have been drinking. The characters in my dream tend to get annoying when I take control, but can do little other than pout. It makes me feel like the kid from that one Twilight Zone episode.
13. I sweat, a lot and easily. People that know me know this. I don't have a nervous affliction or anything, I just do, I sweat easy in any kind of heavy physical activity and am somewhat sensitive to heat. I have no idea why! But I also do not tend to have body odor, so that's something.
14. Not counting Chis and I's short lived band pre-Replicator, I have only been in 3 real bands. Replicator, Mount Vicious and Everything Goes Cold (twice!), that's in 12 years of playing music and 9 "seriously". This always surprises people, but I guess that's atypical of "band dudes" or whatever. I came pretty close to retiring from music when Replicator was winding down, but I thought better of it, and am glad I did.
15. I used to be, and to some degree still am, very photoallergenic. In that, in bright sunlight I would break loose into uncontrollable sneezing. This happens because the part of my brain that is wired to tell you to sneeze is crosswired with the parts that respond to bright light. PE Teachers never believed me until I would break loose into uncontrollable sneezing fits on super bright Modesto days. Yes, this means I got to wear sunglasses when I ran laps. hahahah!
To this day I still always need a good pair of sunglasses in bright weather.
16. I've never owned a dog, although i've always kind of wanted to.
17. I have owned many, many cats, although my very favorite will always be the very special Riffanial P. Katt.
18. I have a tattoo of a stylized Carbon Atom on my right shoulder, it's the only one I have, it took me 28 years to think of. When I got it, the (hot) tattoo artist who did it, it turns out had been a physics major... which I found out when she guessed the atomic weight. If i hadn't been dating somebody at the time I would have asked her out on the spot.
19. I have no piercings and have no plans to ever get one.
20. Neutron is not my real last name (NO! REALLY?!?), but it sounds very close. Although I like it, I'm not crazy about being addressed by my real last name. It started off as a nomme de rock, but it's very important to me and establishing my own identity. So important that i've considered changing it a few times, but always decided that would be silly and unneeded. I think if my brother and I shared the same last name, I probably would have a few years ago.
21. My brother is actually my half brother, we have the same father and a different mother. I cannot stand his mother, for reasons I will not divulge, but have developed a working relationship. I love my brother very, very much though and try to be the best brother I can be to him.
22. I've lived 23 different places in my life, 14 of them before the age of 17 when I moved out on my own. One of the places I lived was a car (for a short period of time). In my adult life (17-31) i've lived in 9 places. for a total of 23.
23. although I own a tv, I haven't had cable, or even an antenna hooked up to it for 12 years. However in the last 5 years I have taken, heavily, to the concept of watching certain serialized tv on DVD, and have extended that into downloading certain shows.
24. Soft drinks and coffee: I do not drink either. Although I used to consume both with alarming regularity and indulgence. I consider myself an aesthete of both as well. Every rare while I will make an exception and have, say a root beer float or something (and usually regret it because it hurts my stomach), or some blended coffee beverage. I usually drink water (esp. seltzer water!) and (100%) juice.
25. Although I try not to talk about it too much, I am rarely, rarely sick. And when I mean rare I mean rare... as in I once went 2 years without so much as a cold. When I do get ill it's usually because I am not getting enough sleep and running myself ragged with stress, almost every time. When I am sick I usually get over at least twice as fast as other people.
